Anyone who knows me knows that I am all about the budget. Buying a huge editorial calendar for my office just is not something I want to do because they start at around $300 and are never exactly what I want. I came up with a very cheap and easy alternative, my very own DIY ombre editorial calendar! I loved the way it turned out the first time I did it, so I’ve been doing it ever since! I got a lot of questions on how exactly to do it, below are the step by step directions!
Step 1. Collect Supplies –
– 7 Shades Of Paper (Find it HERE)
– Double-Sided Tape (HERE)
– Painters tape (or masking tape would work too) (HERE)
– Number stickers (HERE)
Step 2. Hang Up Paper –
Start by putting double-sided tape (one in each corner) on back of the paper. I usually have someone help me with this part while I hang to make the process go faster. I hang the first color of paper. Usually, I start in the bottom left corner but that’s just me! After I get the first piece of paper hung straight on the wall, I take the painters tape and line it up with the edge of the paper, sticking it to the wall. Then I hang the next piece and so on and so forth. Moving the piece of painters tape each time to make sure the spacing is just right! (I also used painters tape to space some photos I hung in my office! It’s such a great tip!
Step 3. Finishing Touches –
Once I have all the paper up on the wall, I printed out the days of the week for the top row and hung those as well. Add number stickers. (Writing the dates on works too!)
Step 5. Start Planning –
Write in events, content, and anything else you want!
