10 Things I Do On the Weekend to Regroup

  1. Sleep – Catch up on those zzzs you missed out on during your busy work week.
  2. Brunch – Get together with some girlfriends, eat your weight in chicken and waffles and talk about things that don’t stress you out!
  3. Workout Outdoors – Try hiking or taking a bike ride with your family. Especially if you have a job that leaves you cooped up in an office all day, it’s important to get some fresh air.
  4. Quiet Time – Take some time to yourself without your significant other or children to read a new book or listen to your favorite podcast.
  5. Explore your City – Check out the unique experiences your city has to offer. Many cities have museums that are free on Sundays and there are bound to be plenty of boutiques and restaurants you haven’t gotten around to checking out.
  6. Reach Out to Someone From Your Past – Take the time to call an old friend or family member or grab coffee with them to catch up. It’s  easy to get so overwhelmed in our day to day lives that we forget to check up on the ones we love. Sometimes bringing yourself back down to earth and reconnecting with your roots helps to give you a new outlook for the upcoming week.
  7. DIY Spa Day – Give yourself a mani/pedi, make a mud mask or just take the time to do all of those beauty maintenance things like shaving, exfoliating and moisturizing your whole body. Taking care of your body can do wonders for your mental state as well! I like to soak in a bath with lavender and epsom salt to ease any tension from the work week.
  8. Volunteer – Helping others is always a good idea. Whether its volunteering at your church’s daycare center or just picking up trash at your local park; when you do good you feel good.
  9. Cuddle an Animal – If you have a furry friend of your own, take some time to give them some love! If you don’t have one of your own, just visit your local animal shelter to volunteer or just play with the dogs. They could always use the affection and company!
  10. Clean – Everything always feels more optimistic in a fresh space. I love to take the weekend to clean my workspace, living space and car because it feels like cleaning out any negative energy. You can also take this time to redecorate so that all of your spaces are comfy and inspirational!

It’s so easy to take the stress of your week home with you, but with even just one of these tips you’re on your way to a refreshing weekend!
